Sign Our Petition to Support Community Mental Health Services
California voters passed the Mental Health Services Act in 2004 to expand funding for community-based mental health. Now Prop 1E on the May 19 ballot would strip nearly $500 million from the Mental Health Services Act and shred innovative programs that are giving Californians with mental illness a fresh chance at better lives.
If Prop 1E passes:
» Devastate and delay new community-based mental health programs
» Slash funding for clients in existing clinics and groups
» People who need treatment will be sent to jails or emergency rooms instead
» Higher costs for California taxpayers
Proposition 1E is opposed by the thousands of California mental health professionals and advocates represented by SEIU. Help build support for mental health services and preserve funding and hope for people struggling with mental illness by signing this petition.
